Whether or not you are a user of Performance Data Investigator (PDI), you probably don’t realize all the capabilities offered by the Performance component of IBM Navigator for i. After this session, you will be inspired to try some new things with your performance data. Even performance experts will learn a thing or two. In addition to displaying the analysis power of PDI, the tools that provide proactive monitoring, trending, and modeling will be discussed.
This session will start out with covering tips on using IBM Navigator for i to get the most out of Performance Data Investigator, including some subtleties of PDI and data collected by Collection Services. Using Collection Services data already on your system, PDI provides a powerful analysis tool for graphically viewing and analyzing this performance data. We will highlight the integration with Database and Collection Services job-level SQL metrics by showing off the Database Health Indicators perspective and other SQL-related views available.
Following that, we will discuss using the tools for proactive monitoring including System Monitors and the updated graphing dashboard.
Next, we will focus on the new Historical Data and Graph History charting. This new function in 7.3 allows you to identify trends and plan for future changes by maintaining a subset of summarized data for a longer period of time.
We will finish with where to start for analysis of performance problems and deeper analysis techniques stepping through some drill down scenarios including Job Watcher.
Bring your questions. Before the sessions are over, you will say (or think), “I never knew that before.” at least once!
THIS MEETING WILL BE AVAILABLE VIA GoToMeeting. PLEASE RSVP TO RECEIVE THE MEETING LINK!
